Party Games

So you have your gift sorted. Hopefully from The Right Gift so now is the time to think of some party games for the day.

A bad sequence of games can make all your hard work go to waste. A good game plan can even make a hastily planned party, a smashing success.

I am providing 5 kids party games and 5 adult party games, for the big kids in you life.

Kids Games

Party Games idea one

Bubble Wrap race

bubble wrap

Who doesn’t like popping bubble wrap?

This always seems to bring great satisfaction for everyone, kids and adults alike.

This is the perfect party game for kids 3 and over.

Roll out a large sheet of bubble wrap on the floor, make sure you have lots of room. And instruct each child to walk over the bubble wrap trying not to make the bubbles pop.

The child that makes it across with making either no or little noise, wins the game.

Game two

Marbles On Spoons

assorted marbles

Place two tables some distance apart and have bowls with marbles on a table.

One of the tables should have empty bowls, and the other table full with bowls of marbles.

The aim of the game is to transfer the marbles to the empty bowl on the other end.

To do this, get them to hold spoons in their mouth and balance the marbles on the spoon, then race from one table to the other.

The child who transfers the most number of marbles, wins the game.

Game three

The Chocolate Game

bar of chocolate

This game is one of my favourites for kids aged 5 and over i would say.

All you need is a hat, scarf, gloves, knife and fork and a massive bar of chocolate.

Get the Children to sit around a board with the unwrapped bar of chocolate.

They then take turns rolling a dice until someone rolls 6.

As soon as a child rolls 6 then have to put on a hat, scarf, gloves, and begin cutting and eating the chocolate using a knife and fork.

The other children continue rolling the dice, and the moment another child rolls 6 the previous ‘eater’ must stop, and it’s the new child’s turn to dress up and continue.

Every time i have played this game with kids, its always been good, and causes high excitement for that party feel.

Game four

The donut Challenge

Have the wet wipes handy for this one.

Hang ring doughnuts on strings spread out across another string. Children must attempt to eat as much of the doughnut as they can without it falling.

Sounds simple enough!

The challenge however is that no hands are allowed! They must be behind their backs!

Set a timer for however long you want to give them, and the child who eats the most wins.

Game five

Musical Numbers

A bit of prep is required for this one, but worth it for a different game.

Cut a large circle of paper, or old plastic tablecloth for every child at the party, and draw on large bright numbers .

You also need to have prepared a few small prizes, one for each round you are going to play, wrapped up and marked with corresponding numbers.

For example, if you have 10 children and hope to play 5 rounds, you would have 10 pieces of paper marked 1 to 10, and say 5 prizes marked 1, 3, 8, 9 and 10.

Scatter the papers around the room and get the children dancing.

When the music stops the children must sit down or stand on a piece of paper. Then, announce the winning number for that round and see who has won the little prize!

Party Games for adults

Sticker Stalker

sticky notes for party games

Even grown-ups like stickers and in the Sticker Stalker Game challenges your guests to place as many of their stickers on the other guests as possible.

You can assign a type or color of sticker for each guest or even use labels with that person’s name on them.

Game two

The Cereal Box Game

This is a fantastic house party game and requires a bit of physical activity.

Get an empty cereal box and put it in the middle of the room.

All players must try and pick the cereal box up using their mouth in any means necessary, as long as they don’t put their hands on the floor, or furniture.

Once everyone has had a go at picking up the cereal box, cut an inch off the box. Continue trying to pick it up with your mouth, and cutting an inch off each time, until someone is crowned the winner.

Game three

The laughing game

Get everyone seated round a table or in a circle.

Players take it in turns to say “Ha”, “Ho” or “Hee”.

Anyone who starts laughing is knocked out of the game

Keep going until everyone’s out

The person who keeps a straight face the longest wins a prize.

Game four

Human Hungry Hippos

fighting hippos
hungr

This is one of my favourite games, but you will need quite a bit of space to play.

You need, skateboards, plastic balls (ball pit ones are perfect) , long bungee cords and small baskets.

Place the plastic toy balls in the center of the room. Then attach the long bungee cords to the skate boards. Each player then has to get on the board.

The person on the board must have a basket in their hands.

Each person will need a teammate to push them to the center of the room. The player on the skate board has to try to get the most balls in their basket before being pulled back by their teammate.

The balls have to be in the basket and pulled back to that team’s corner to receive points or prizes, whatever you decide.

Game five

Celebrity Name Game

breakfast at tiffanys

Every adult party has to have a fun drinking game.

Pick someone at random to say the first and last name of celebrity.

The next person must use the first letter of the last name to name another celebrity, etc.

If someone names a celebrity with the same letter at the beginning of their first and last names the direction of play reverses.

When a player can’t think of a name within a few seconds, they must drink their favorite adult beverage until they think of a name.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my ideas, and it makes your next party even better than you already planned.

Hi, I am 36 and have been married for 10 years to my husband Steve. We have 4 Children which can be challenging to say the least. Shopping of any kind is my passion, it gives me a buzz like no other. I love receiving gifts, but most of all I love giving gifts, and this is where the idea for my business came from. My best friend has always told me I have a knack for always finding the perfect present for anyone. She often would take me with her to shop for her children's birthdays and Christmas. I thought I would take the plunge and make my passion my business.
